Welcome Event: S'mores & Bubbly On The Beach

• On sand. At night. Tricky path. Actual fire.

• Wear something social, fun, and practical. You'll be making friends.

• Barefoot would be closer to appropriate than Oxfords.

Adventure / Exploration Days

• This depends on your chosen level of bravery.

• You may be in water. In the jungle. Climbing ruins. Sweating heroically.

• Dress accordingly. Practical all-terrain shoes are your friend. So is quick-dry anything.

Dinners & Other Meals

• Not formal. Not fussy. Can you move fast to get a good photo of the monkeys or birds? Then you are on the right track.

• Fun, casual, practical. No one will be judging your choice of comfort.

• Thongs? If you can navigate the trail, absolutely.

Happy Hours (Yes, there is more than one)

• You know that Hawaiian shirt you bought during a “this feels like a good idea” phase? Turns out it was just waiting for happy hour in Belize.

• Yes, time to have a little fun with your outfits if you are so inclined. Or not! Anything goes.

• Happy hours will be outside and social.

The Wedding Bit

• Time to elevate - slightly. Yes, it's in the jungle, but yes, it is also a wedding. And there will be photos!

• You will be outside for, well, all of it.

• Linen, flowy fabrics, colors, open collars.

• Think Jungle Cocktail Party: comfortable, colorful.

• Flat or block-heeled shoes highly preferable. The jungle and tricky root and rock littered trails will always win.

In General

• This is not a high-end marble-lobby situation.

• There will be off-roading. There will be tree roots and rocks. There will be stairs and winding un-pathed trails. There will be joy.

• Dress like you’re ready for adventure… but still hoping to look good in photos.

• General dress theme will always be fun, casual, but above all comfortable and practical.

Happy Hours

• Drinks are on you… but good news: they’re all two-for-ones. You're welcome.

Other Meals

• On you. Lunch and dinners are available at the Treehouse Restaurant (optional but there's nothing else around us, so...)

The Wedding Day

• This one’s on us.

• Pre-ceremony cocktails.

• Post-ceremony cocktails.

• Post-ceremony hors d'oeuvres

• Reception dinner

• All drinks through 8pm.

• After 8pm? Cash bar for all.

In short:

• You handle your travel, adventures, and general life choices.

• We’ll handle the bits in between: beach party, brekkie, and the wedding.

• Bring cash, small bills for bar and food tipping. US dollars are OK!

Come ready for anything!

Essentials:

• Swimsuits (plural… you’ll want a dry one)

• Light, breathable clothes for tropical heat

• Pool & river lounging attire

• Proper water shoes for cave exploring / river rafting (your toes will thank you)

• Sandals you can kick off dramatically

• Hats, sunscreen, and sunnies (the Belize sun does not negotiate)

• Bug spray (we are guests in the jungle 🦟)

• A small torch / headlamp (pathways + late-night jungle wanderings)

• Electrolytes. Trust us.

• A sense of adventure

Important note:

• No bottles of duty free in your bags. And by “no,” we mean… absolutely yes.

Optional but wise:

• A light rain jacket (tropical showers are romantic until they aren’t)

• A dry bag for water activities

• Imodium. Just in case. We’re being honest here.

To Belize! We have rented out an entire jungle resort. It is located at approximately 17°05'40.1"N 89°04'06.3"W next to the Macal River.

It is a 5 day, 4 night adventure. You need to arrive at the resort on April 19th in time for a welcome gathering (time is still a bit TBD but it will be early/late arvo) and we'll be kicking you out on the 23rd.

A good start would be a flight into Belize City. The official airport is Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport. From there, you can either a) rent a car, b) take your own shuttle, or c) a bus, then a shuttle, probably a little working (don't do this).

We do have a shuttle plan with the resort. A shuttle will depart from the airport at 2PM. $85 per person. Minimum 4 guests. Pro tip? Try to get a flight that gets you to the shuttle before 2PM.

We (and by we I mean Dani) will be checking everyones travel plans and helping coordinate shuttles etc closer to the date.

The place is ours! But as rooms and options are a tad limited, we are working with each and everyone of you to come up with the best solution for all. So no fighting and you WILL LIKE what you get. Got it?

Fuck yes. Other activities include things like:

- Tube or canoe down the river. Even swim in it.

- Cave exploration including tubing an underground river

- Exploring Mayan ruins

- Bird watching

- Visiting a chocolate plantation

- Going deep into the underworld to visit human sacrifices

- Waterfalls, gardens, hiking trails

And anything else that you can rustle up! We will have an activity sign up on this website.

We believe we have found the right balance between accessibility, comfort, activities, and the all important cost. To give you an idea:

• Accommodation: For 4 nights per person, including breakfast, it will range between $550 & $925

• Transfers: Depending on how you get there, but plan on $90 each way per person. We are working on grouping people and making it a bit cheaper.

• Activities: Planning to sit by the pool? Then a big fat zero. Activities range from half to full day adventures and range from $50 to $225 per person.

• Other: You may want a little walking around money for extra cocktails and grub - so go clean out that couch!

For sure. Dani (our awesome new friend and travel planner) will be more than happy to help you with any of your travel needs. Flights? Piece of cake. Transfers? A given. About 20 minutes from the airport. They have shuttles. Reasonably priced. Keep in mind that if you want to join the shuttle to where it is all happening (ummm, our wedding spot) then you'll need to get back to the airport to meet the shuttle.
